Happy Birthday "Baby Sister"!
Celebrating the life of our beloved daughter today, May 20th. She is turning two today! What a gift SHE is to us! Kayli, happy birthday, sweet child. We'll be there soon! We love you! May the Lord fill you with love on your special day since we are not there to do so. And may you sense His arms wrapping around you since we are not present to hug you. May our God prepare our paths to one another!

A Warmth in My Heart and Butterflies in My Stomach
Tonight was Community Group night. This is our small group from church. They all surprised us with little sending off gifts. Each couple shopped for items that they thought we might need on our trip! Everything from tums, to clif bars! a box full of items that we will more than likely use it all up. What was so touching about each item (even the Preperation H for... I'm sure you can guess) is that they were bought using their time, their money, and their creativity, for us. I continued to be overwhelmed and stunned by all the support and encouragement and love we are receiving as we prepare to head off on our journey to Kayli! My heart is warm.
Sitting down working on the boys itenerary for my Mom while we're gone, just entering the dates and thinking about dates like Gotcha Day (the day where we are given Kayli) causes butterflies to stir within.

Counting Down the Days
Six more days on the calendar. Six more days to prepare. Six more days. The waves of emotions are unlike anything I've experienced before. Absolute sheer joy. A depth of joy welling up in me and spilling over into a huge smile, tears, and at times, even out loud laughter! In the middle of the grocery store, folding the laundry, driving in the car- the joy spills over. And then the fear. All the uncertainties: how will she be, what the first few weeks will be like with her, caring for her and her cleft palate, if I will forget or mess up any documents I'm taking with us that would hinder our ability to bring her home! Oh the fear. Then I am reminded of God's comforing words, "perfect love cast out fear" 1 John 4:18. Only God is perfect love. Only God can comfort me and bring peace. And then, there is joy!
