Adoption Timeline

2001 God pressed on our hearts a desire to adopt from China. Discovered Chinese laws required that you be at least 30 years old to adopt.

9 years Prayed about ability to adopt

March 2010 Shane and I began communicating about adoption again.

April 8 Submitted an Application for a Waiting Child

April 14 Turned in our application to Great Wall China Adoption

April 22 Great Wall China Adoption application approved

3 months Paper Chase- gather all documentation needed adoption process

July 1 Shane and I had our first meeting with Social Case Worker for our Homestudy.

July 15 Individual meetings with the case worker

July 29 Final meeting with case worker: with the whole family at our home

Aug. 11 I-800 application mailed off

September 9 Homestudy approved

Sept. 25 Attended an adoption conference in SanAntonio

Oct. 9 Donations and grant organization, Lifesong, application turned in

Oct. 25 Government fingerprinting

Nov. 5 Papers Certified downtown Austin

Nov. 8 Papers authenticated at Chinese consulate in Houston

Nov. 19 Dossier Sent to china

Dec. 20 Matched to kayli

Dec. 30 Pre approval for kayli

Jan. 10 Raised $20, 390 through contributions our friends and family to our non-profit Lifesong account! We are amazed by God’s provision!

March 9, 2011 Picked up updated Homestudy and mailed off Supplement 3 and I-800

March 25 Received I-797 (approved i-800)

April 6 National Visa Center Letter Arrived

April 7 Letter Seeking Confirmation package off to China

April 29 Article 5 arrived at CCCWA (China Center for Children’s Welfare and Adoption ) -3-8 weeks to receive travel date

May 6 Travel Visa applications approved at the Chinese consulate

May 13 Got Travel Approval

May 14 Shower for Kayli

May 25 Depart Austin to China !!
